Lanvin 2013 Spring/Summer Collection

As the runway show for Lanvin‘s Spring/Summer 2013 began to get underway, designers Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver appeared to be in high spirits — perhaps an early foreshadow to the confident and expertly executed collection that they knew was about to take stage. A very substantial collection, perhaps even more notable from the range was the collection’s all-encompassing inventory of everything from formalwear to sportswear, suiting and casual garb, as well as elements of contemporary and classic. The show kicked off with a decidedly contrasting aesthetic set to predominantly black and white blazers, overcoats and wide trousers. Leading into a range of loose fitting shorts and shirt, the collection began to take a turn for the more bold and vibrant through an assortment of shimmering and glistening textiles mixed throughout with muted tan hues and understated neutral greys. Experimental in the areas that were necessary, yet effectively conservative in the other realms that required reserve, the 2013 spring/summer collection affirmed Elbaz and Ossendrijver’s dedication to the progression of the fashion world while also carving out a space for timeless design tenants.
