Makoto Yamaguchi Latest Design in Komae, Japan

Japanese office makoto yamaguchi design has completed ‘house in komae’, a property located in a residential area of tokyo. Despite being surrounded by neighboring buildings, the narrow entrance to the site establishes a tranquil atmosphere. as the surrounding structures are in a constant state of flux, the brief called for a design which would not be affected by changes made to bordering properties. The program is split across two levels with an acoustically insulated piano room and sleeping accommodation housed in the basement. At the ground floor, the living room’s curved walls add a sense of depth and intrigue to the interior, while long windows let daylight into the building without comprising external views. constantly shifting changes in ambiance ensure a harmonious sense of segmentation and unity throughout the residence.
