How Do You Spend Your Summer Days?
Watch: Rado yperChrome Automatic Chronograph

Watch: Rado yperChrome Automatic Chronograph

I really enjoy summertime. I like spending time with friends and family. Living the most! Dressing comfortably and caring the least about my outfits. So a total blue outfit is probably my go to look. But even during summers I do not have a lot of spare time, which means I need to check time constantly. My Rado watch is there to help me. I am choosing the HyperChrome Automatic Chronograph, an automatic watch made of plasma high-tech ceramic. It is very durable and also water resistant which makes it even more ideal during summertime.  And you? How do you spend your summer days and what do you wear?

How to Make a Vodka Martini
maxresdefault.jpg

The vodka martini itself is a fine drink—icy, refreshing, smooth. What it isn't, however, is a martini. Those you make with gin. In fact, the vodka version used to have a name of its own, the Kangaroo. That never really caught on. Then it was the Vodkatini. But who's going to say that? Now, of course, it's calling itself "martini," without a prefix. Such, we suppose, is the right of a conqueror. Here's how to properly make one, shaken, with French vermouth. Bond would approve.

INGREDIENTS

  1. 3 oz. Grey Goose Vodka
  2. 1 tsp. French vermouth

DIRECTIONS

  1. Shake the ingredients well with cracked ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
  2. Garnish with a twist (or with olives).

Truth be told, we find the vodka martini much improved by a dash of orange bitters. Up to you.

Buying a Swimsuit
Total Look: Pepe Jeans

Total Look: Pepe Jeans

Swimsuits are, relative to a lot of menswear, forgiving garments to shop for. You don’t need an absolutely perfect tailored fit, so long as the suit stays up when you dive in (and most have a cord at the waist to help with that).

You are likely to only have one or two swim garments in your wardrobe at a time, so it’s worth finding ones you really like.

Men who are planning on hitting up beach parties and crowd scenes need to be a little pickier. And businessmen who may end up in the spa or hotel pool with co-workers and business partners have their own special concerns. Ask yourself:

Are you trying to impress anyone? If not, stop worrying. Wear whatever is comfortable and works for you.

Are you trying to look professional? Conservative (but not exaggerated) length, conventional styles (trunks or square-cuts), and dark, solid colors or restrained stripes are for you. Navy blue with brass-colored grommets and white rope ties are always safe.

Do you want to look as good as you can? If so, you’ll need a cut that flatters your body type (see below), and a color and pattern that’s eye-catching without being ridiculous. Think stripes, plaids, bright solids, or some not-too-crazy floral patterning. Larger men should avoid close-cut styles like board shorts, despite them being in fashion.

These questions will affect the color, patterning, and cut you decide to go with. My choice is this Pepe Jeans swimsuit and shirt that really flatters my body and express my personality.

You're Going to Love Mykonos
13dccc854000f4fbe4140b3ce6479646.jpg

The island of Mykonos is known for its emblematic windmills and its narrow streets with whitewashed facades. This small island in the Aegean Sea is also one of the most popular destinations in the area and is an ideal choice if you want to find modern hotels and restaurants.

Spend your day strolling through the streets of Little Venice or relaxing at one of the many beaches before heading to one of the buzzing night clubs.

Visiting Mykonos is the perfect opportunity to discover Byzantine architecture and to visit the nearby UNESCO World Heritage site of Delos. If you start feeling crowded in the main city, head to one of the smaller inland villages or take a drive around the island to admire the wild landscapes.

What to do in Mykonos

1. Little Venice: Waterside Vibes

The highlight of the Mykonos waterfront is Little Venice, named for its delightful fishing houses that fall mystically into the blue water like buildings along the Venetian canals. The stormier Aegean Sea greets the bases of these iconic white homes, and photo opportunities abound from every direction. Wandering the back streets reveals charming galleries and delectable cafés and bars with a distinctively Greek atmosphere.

2. Windmills of Mykonos: A Pretty Picture

These 16th-century windmills are adorable hilltop wonders, overlooking Mikri Venetia and the expansive sea. Built centuries ago by Venetians, the engineering is simple but lasting. Visitors to Mykonos arriving to the island catch their first glimpse of land with the silhouettes of these iconic buildings towering over the picturesque port. Sunset views from the base of the beautiful buildings are incomparable, as the white houses are bathed in golden light.

3. Church of Panagia Paraportiani: Five in One

In the Kastro neighborhood by the sea, Panagia Paraportiani is one of the most unique church buildings in the world. White through and through, this angelic structure has gradually expanded since the 14th century and celebrates a diversity of architectural styles. From tip to toe, five different churches have been combined and built into one. Don't you leave without snapping a selfie!

4. Delos: Beautiful Gods

A beautiful boat ride away from Mykonos, Delos is an island rich in ancient history. One of the most important sites in all of Greece, it is archaeological heaven for experts and tourists alike. Wander every corner of this UNESCO World Heritage Site in search of traces of the civilization that once worshipped the sacred land as the birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis. Highlights include the Terrace of the Lions and the Sacred Way, lined with countless temples, statues and mosaics.

Are you looking for a casual but classy look to wear this summer? If so, then look no further than the men’s Riviera style. The Riviera style merges sophistication and casualness together into a stylish blend which light and cool for the warmer weather.

The Riviera Trend

Ever since the first wave of well-to-do holidaymakers started flocking to southern parts of France and Italy in the late ’20s to early ’30s, an understated and elegant style began to emerge that was ideal for the endless boating, promenading and lounging they indulged in. This look is what has since become known as the Riviera trend. There may be a number of staple Riviera pieces already in your wardrobe: blue shirts, chinos, boat shoes, moccasins; but merging these pieces together can create a truly stylish look.

There are a lot of trends that swing about which are hard for people to come on board with. This isn’t one of them. The Riviera trend is really easy to incorporate into your already existing wardrobe as well as being easy to style and even easier to pull off.

Grey Goose Unveils Its Limited-Edition Bottle By Quentin Monge
fb6ab618-d8c6-4a7f-a65e-c58e48594d92.jpeg

Last year Grey Goose revealed its first limited-edition bottle in the United States. Celebrating its French heritage and toasting to a festive summer, it was dubbed the “Riviera bottle,” featuring nautical marinière stripes in the brand’s signature blue. For 2018, Grey Goose is continuing the series and has upped its design game by collaborating with illustrator Quentin Monge.

The Paris-born artist, whose whimsical drawings are followed by more than 125,000 followers on Instagram, spent much of his childhood near Saint-Tropez. To capture the French Riviera lifestyle, Monge decided to decorate the bottle with blue-and-white striped parasols, a symbol of summer holidays on the French Riviera. The motif also appears on the neoprene sleeve that the bottle comes with, ideal for keeping it cool on a hot, sunny day.

Monge says that he’s “inspired by people—women, mostly—but the illustrations are rooted in the South of France,” when I caught up with him at a pool party Grey Goose threw with luggage brand Away—a company Monge just happens to have previously partnered up with—in Cannes during the International Film Festival last month. Having drawn parasols before, loving the pattern that they create when several are propped up in the sand, the collaboration with the premium vodka brand “felt really natural.”

The illustrator has been drawing since he was young, with a pencil and sketchbook in hand anytime he went down to the beach. And while many of his graphics are displayed digitally these days, the artist finds comfort in paper, adding that “the process is always a little sketch in the moment and then later on I develop something with a different medium.”

And while blue may have been an obligatory color due to Grey Goose’s signature shade, the hue also really speaks to Monge and is often prominent in many of his other works. “For me, when I think about the French Riviera and where I come from, it’s always like this bright blue.” He also states that Matisse and Picasso are two of his biggest influences, both of whom had series focused on blue.

Now that he’s returned to the Côte d’Azur, leaving Paris for a village just outside of Saint-Tropez, a coastal town that really comes alive in the summer, Monge is looking forward to all of the natural light and being inspired by the locals. Because while the City of Light brims with creative energy, things are a bit different on the Riviera: “The energy comes from the lifestyle, the people. It can be the butcher, the fishermen you meet at the port—those are the people that give me inspiration, more than other artists or creative. I don’t necessarily need to be surrounded by creatives; I rather be surrounded by people who live their life because they’re in the right place and at the right moment of their life and they’re happy about that. And I find that in the South of France people are really happy.”

Monge’s preference for company is also reflected in his go-to beaches around Saint-Tropez, naming Plage des Salins (his favorite) and Plage de la Ponche in lieu of Pampelonne, the strip most known for its boisterous clubs.

Bentley Will Soon Unleash 10 Limited-Edition Bentayga “Pikes Peak” SUV’s
https_%2F%2Fhypebeast.com%2Fimage%2F2018%2F06%2Fbentley-bentayga-pikes-peak-limited-edition-001.jpg

High-end luxury automaker Bentley will soon be unleashing a limited-edition SUV range to celebrate a recent milestone achievement. A Bentley Bentayga – driven by two-time champion Rhys Millen — took to the picturesque Pikes Peak mountain range with the aim of claiming the fastest time put forth by any and all SUV’s before it. Clocking in at a time of just 10:49.9 proved good enough to claim top spot, earning the honors of fastest production SUV at Pikes Peak.

With this win in hand, 10 W12-powered Bentayga “Pikes Peak” editions will come to the forefront, some of which will feature a “Beluga Black” paint job, while others will receive the “Radium” treatment. Both versions, however, will come equipped with black gloss fittings, a carbon fiber splitter, side skirts, diffuser and a rear spoiler, amongst others. The limited-edition Bentley Bentayga will be available for order in the U.S. and Europe later this August.

Elsewhere in the automotive world, RM Sotheby’s listed this ultra-rare McLaren F1 through its new private sales division.

How To Get A Bohemian Style
Pants & Shirt: Antony Morato / Shoes: Etro / Sunglasses: Gucci

Pants & Shirt: Antony Morato / Shoes: Etro / Sunglasses: Gucci

One key look that many men want to achieve is the bohemian style. It’s cool, laid back and comfortable but still has a certain element of stylishness to it. This look is more about your attitude rather than specific wardrobe additions but there’s a few things you can add to your collections to help you nail this effortless style. Let’s jump into it

Get Lighter

This isn’t about dropping a few bounds, it’s about going for lighter colorways. Pale blue jeans, brighter shirts and deeper colored accessories are what make this look far more approachable. You want to stay away from monochrome outfits and having too many browns and dark tones in your outfit. Keep things light and relaxed.

Get Accessories

Usually we would say don’t go overboard on the finishing touches to your outfits but that goes out of the window here. This is where you’ll be adding most of the personality and uniqueness to the style. Go for hats, necklaces, rings, bracelets, bandanas and scarves a pivotal look to the bohemian style. Again, not all at once, but two or three at a time should do the trick. And don’t make them too premium, we’re looking for leather bracelets, rope necklaces with a pendant and anything with an air of individuality about it.

Get Lazier

This doesn’t mean start sitting on your arse for days on end and obstaining from a good shower. It means being a little more lax with the ironing, opt for comfier footwear with the laces undone, let your accessories hang off you in a more care-free fashion and don’t buy everything to fit you perfectly. Obviously don’t do all these things at once or it’s going to be really hard to make it look stylish. Just a couple of these at once and you’ll give off a much more relaxed vibe.

Why I Love Greek Summer
Swimsuit & Shirt: Hackett London / Sunglasses: Tomas Maier

Swimsuit & Shirt: Hackett London / Sunglasses: Tomas Maier

There are plenty of blog posts about summer in Greece. Too many to count, but the side that we locals get to see, the secret side is what keeps us coming back for those precious moments with friends near the sea.

Summer in Greece is not only concentrated on the islands of course; which is sometimes the only thing most visitors either get to or care to see. Athens is not a place to be avoided at all costs. The open air concerts, the festivals, the art, the bars, and the hustle and bustle of the beautiful magical Athenian summer night, can’t be described in words; it must be lived!

Here is my list of things that make a Greek summer complete.

  1. Go to the beach early, and stay after sun down — always. (on those rare occasions that you sleep at a beach… wake up at dawn and take refreshing morning swim)
  2. Go with friends, leave with more friends.
  3. Eat at a small tavern, preferably overlooking the sea. Pick the small unassuming places not the ones featured in Conde Nast Traveler (sorry but it’s true).
  4. The secret beaches are usually the best ones.
  5. The secret beaches are the hardest to get to — for that exact same reason.
  6. Leave your fucking mobile phone off and enjoy the sea, dive in, stay in and live in the moment.

#PLEINSPORTCUP Spring/Summer 2019
Plein Sport m atm RS18 1236.jpg

Milan, 16 June 2018 – Plein Sport makes a triumphant return to Milan this season and, with a tennis-inspired collection, serves a perfect ace. Staged on a full-size grass court surrounded by palm trees, the audience is magically transported to the Beverley Hills Tennis Club. The players warm up, returning shots from ball machines, practicing their backhand. Ball boys crouch eagerly at either side of the net as the umpire takes his seat. The Spring/Summer 2019 #PLEINSPORTCUP can begin…

Embodying the stylish flair of Björn Borg and the take-no-prisoners attitude of John McEnroe, the Plein Sport men are tough, toned Grand Slam-ers. The fresh-faced girls are young Billie Jean King’s: gripping their rackets, they’re focused and determined, champions ready to win their mixed match.

Like the game of tennis, their clothes are timeless and elegant. Green, white and navy dominate the palette of this Spring/Summer collection. Key pieces include training jackets with piping detail, block-color tracksuits, V-neck knit jumpers, chevron polo shirts, knee-length shorts and pleated mini-skirts. Complete with headbands, visors and wristbands, the look might be vintage influenced but it’s remixed for the sporting demands of today. Technical fabrics, breathable materials and lightweight engineering ensure this wardrobe is fit for smash-volley action. And emblazoned throughout – across hoodies, towels and even swimwear – a special Plein Sport emblem featuring two crossed tennis rackets.

Launched only one-and-a-half years ago, the Plein Sport brand has accelerated with incredible speed and, by the end of this year, will boast 40 standalone stores around the world. In the competitive activewear arena, that’s game, set and match to Plein Sport.

Philipp Plein is also pleased to announce that next year the brand begins a new partnership as the official fashion sponsor of Monaco Football Club.

4 Rules for a More Minimalist Home
MRArchitecture_p169.jpg

1. Don't Try So Hard

"Most people try to accomplish too much in their homes," advises David Mann. "They try to be this and this and this, and when they're done, it doesn't function in any of the ways they envisioned. What are the most important goals? Choose a few and accomplish them." Mann had worked with Indiana-native and art collector Rodney Miller on two prior projects when they were given the opportunity to build from the ground up on a 25-foot-wide vacant lot in Carnegie Hill. "Miller is very tall, and one frustration he had with many apartments is they felt claustrophobic." He wanted a place that wouldn't make him, his art collection, or his friends—who he liked to have over for drinks and dinner—feel cramped

So Mann imported space, by way of light. The glass curtain wall at the back of the house lets the sun flow in and the interior lighting flow out, where it brightens up the backyard at night. Mann dropped blue stone throughout the entire place—from the front courtyard, through the first floor, and through the outside—so that it feels like one continuous space. The dark-toned flooring and wood accents, paired with damn-that's-white walls, put the focus on the hanging art. All Miller's missing is a quiet suited man in the corner reminding guests not to use flash photography.

MRArchitecture_p043.jpg

2. Play Nice with Mother Nature

The most minimalist house possible would be a shipping container painted white with one lone mid-century modern chair in the corner, but nobody wants that. No, even if you want minimal, you still want some of the messiness that is the outdoors meshing with your design. The key, then, is to be intentional about how that happens.

The template for this 2,400-square-foot weekend home in upstate New York were drawings and renderings of a desert home Mann had designed for himself. Mann wanted to orient the house to face the western sunset, toward the Catskills, but his client, Sara Rotman of MODCo Creative Inc, argued that it would involve cutting down too many trees and it would be just as nice to wake up to the sunrise towards the Berkshire view. "The lesson here," says Mann, "is to trust your instincts. Don't just listen to someone else."

MRArchitecture_p086.jpg

3. ...And Make the Yard Minimalist, Too

Look at that pool. That glowing green grass. Those clean lines and startling edges. That's how minimalism goes out into the yard.

The outside of this house is clad in Cembonit, a kind of dyed stain-proof synthetic wood, and that flat textured expanse mirrors the clean walls inside. For good reason: "The exterior here becomes a room, embraced on three sides" says Mann. "The family spends a great deal of time outside together." You won't find much littering the lawn—no fire pits or tchotchkes, no botanic garden landscaping—save a freestanding screen hides an outdoor shower and barbecue. (The screen has a little window so the grill master can see what's happening and tell anyone who wants a burger well-done to kick rocks.) The lesson here is that you can—and should—bring the interior design you love out into all that green space. Maximize your patio, buy pool furniture you love, invest in a better grill.

MRArchitecture_p164.jpg

4. Save Your Soul

So you're not building your dream Zen zone from scratch, but working with the house you've been given. Attaining minimalist nirvana means you'll want to do some surgery—but don't go so minimal that you lose what made the space special in the first place.

For the gut renovation of the 4,000-square-foot bachelor pad of Yoon Kim, Mann preserved the industrial loft's existing architecture, including its massive rolling steel doors, vaulted ceilings, arched top windows, and exposed brick walls. "You have to know what not to take away," said Mann. "Know what's good in the space and what to leave."

Grey Goose Atelier in Spetses

Recently, together with other bloggers, journalists as well as some of the best cook and barmen from Greece, I was invited to the island of Spetses. Grey Goose was the gold sponsor of the Spetses Classic Yacht Regatta 2018. The Grey Goose team created the Atelier of Taste, a foodpairing experience in a beautiful villa at the center of the town.

We spent 2 days in that fabulous villa, all on the colours of Grey Goose where we had the opportunity to learn more about the origins of the Grey Goose Vodka. We also tasted some drinks and food creations made by the best barmen and chefs.

I totally fell in love with this mansion so thats why I am sharing this video with you. Soon enough more containt will be online.

Around London Fashion Week With The Hyundai i30 Fastback
Hyundai i30 fastback.jpg

Hyundai i30 Fastback a five-door coupé that won’t break the bank

Hey Guys! I might be in Florence for Pitti Uomo but I had to do this blog post to let you know, how it was my weekend and London Fashion Week.

It is the 6th year that I am attending Fashion Week and it feels like it’s the first one! I really love everything about it and I guess that feeling will never change as I am a fashion lover. The shows, the street style, the atmosphere, the fashion crowd – everything!

My favorite shows of the week were: Matthew Miller, Oliver Spencer and Berthold . Being backstage at Qasimi was amazing as well, that show looked unreal!

It was a crazy busy few days but thankfully I had the new Hyundai i30 Fastback to drive me around the city on time, with safety and comfort.
For those who are not aware about the new Hyundai i30 Fastback is a four-door saloon that's designed to look like a coupe. Hot on the heels of the high performance i30N models, the new Fastback completes the i30 range alongside the hatchback and estate variants. With the Fastback, Hyundai is daring to be different and stylish. And if you ask me, mission accomplished! The roof is lower than the hatch and the car is some inches longer, making it a five-door compact coupe that looks very classy. A full set of driver aids include an electronic parking brake, collision avoidance systems and lane keeping controls, which have earned the Fastback a five-star safety score. Driving it also I understood that Fastback is really FAST as well!

The new i30 Fastback is for sure a grown-up compact coupe with appeal to drivers young and old. Test drive it guys!

The 1967 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake Is Making a Return
1967-ford-shelby-gt500-return-new-cars-0.jpg

In the 1960s, Shelby constructed a demonstration Mustang for Goodyear – the Shelby GT500 Super Snake. The car was powered by a lightweight 427-cubic-inch race engine taken from a Le Mans-winning Ford GT40. As a result, it is said to have produced 520 horsepower, which was a stat for its time.

In 2013, Shelby dealer Don McCain purchased the sole 1960s Shelby car for $1.3 million USD and now, Shelby will build 10 more cars for collectors. The GT500 Super Snake will be powered by a 427 V-8 550 hp engine. Both aluminum and cast-iron blocks will be available for the buyer to choose from. The car will be backed by a four-speed manual transmission and will have the famous triple stripes and disc brakes much like the original.

In addition, purchasers will also get original signature by Carroll Shelby and Don McCain. While both have already passed away, McCain promoted the idea of the Super Snake program to Shelby and they both signed ten dash plaques for the cars. Each car will be priced at $249,995 USD.

Ferrari Debuts SP38 Supercar Made for One Customer Only
ferrari-sp38-supercar-4.jpg

Crafted for “one of Ferrari‘s most dedicated customers,” the SP38 is in a class all its own. Crafted from the chassis and running gear of a 488 GTB, the SP38 sports design details influenced by the F40, including rear spoiler and engine cover construction influenced by the heritage car. Boasting ultra-thin headlights and a carbon fiber flip-up assembly, the SP38 was designed with speed in mind, as its owner reportedly maintains a “deep passion for racing.” According to Top Gear, stats may include a 0-62 time of approximately three seconds with a top speed of 205, if the SP38 is comparable to a standard 488 GTB. The unique car is one of Ferrari’s one-off models, never to be repeated again.

Check out the car in all its glory, and visit Italy’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este on May 26 to see the vehicle on display for a limited time.

A day in Sandbanks

It has been called England’s answer to Malibu. But that’s a bit like calling Hugh Grant England’s answer to Brad Pitt. A nonsense. Nevertheless, it’s not hard to see why the analogy sprang up.

Sandwiched between the seaside towns of Bournemouth and Poole on England’s South coast the Sandbanks peninsula juts like a pointed finger about a mile out to sea. It is so narrow at one section that you can see the waves lapping along the edge of both of its sides from the road.

People pay a high price for the awesome views out across one of the world’s largest natural harbours, taking in the golden dunes of Studland nature reserve on the opposite shore and then out over the English Channel to the Isle of Wight. In fact, it is said to be one of the most expensive places on earth per square metre to buy a home and the property price tags have given it a reputation as a seaside playground for the ultra rich.

There are a few fantasyland lairs, from which Bentleys and Porches glide in and out, but if you come here hoping to spend a few days living the millionaire lifestyle you will be largely disappointed.

Think instead of wide stretches of golden coastline where kids fish for crabs in the rock pools, as Dad finishes off the sandcastle development they started earlier. Both desert their pursuits in a flash when the ice-cream boat arrives. The real Sandbanks is the traditional British seaside resort of yesteryear.
