Yes, ’90s fashion is well and truly back, and with it has come the incredible return of skate style. From oversized graphic tees to classic Vans sneakers, the apparel donned by skaters in the 1990s is on-trend once more. But, this time around, you don’t need to know what a kickflip is to be able to rock these fashionable threads. Skateboarding first boomed in the ‘60s and ‘70s and with it, the skater style began to develop. However, it wasn’t until the ‘90s that skating transformed from a niche sport into a global phenomenon. It was then that wide-spread adoption of skate culture and fashion took place. Practical and comfortable, the skater style was all about loose and functional clothing that was appropriate for the sport and provided some protection. Its aesthetic was casual and carefree with an anti-establishment touch. Today, the look is on-trend once again with major designers, brands and influencers all embracing the skater style. Choose sneakers ( vans would be the most preferable brand or you can choose a more fancy one, I chose my Chanel ones ), hoodies, graphic T-Shirts, comfy pants and cool jackets.

Suits and sneakers. There was a time when putting these two words together was blasphemous and juvenile. But in the past five years, the once unorthodox combo has cropped up on menswear runways and our offices, as high fashion skews more casual, and now dapper dudes like Idris Elba, Kevin Durant, and David Beckham are taking this trend head on.

The best part is that you don’t have to be a movie star or a professional athlete to pull this look off. Although there are some do’s and don’ts when it comes to the fit, it really comes down to how you feel and how you want to represent yourself. Otherwise there are some essentials you’ll want to prioritize: color, fabric, and silhouette. You can’t just take a few pieces from your business wardrobe, throw on a pair of Nikes, and call it a day. Here are a few tips and fits you can rely on to make sure you always look your best.Suits and sneakers. There was a time when putting these two words together was blasphemous and juvenile. You can’t just take a few pieces from your business wardrobe, throw on a pair of Nikes, and call it a day. Here are a few tips and fits you can rely on to make sure you always look your best.

Pant length: A tapered, straight-legged pair of trousers will almost always look good with low-top sneakers. If they’re not tapered, you could add a cuff to the end of the pants, which should break just below your ankle.

Shoe color: Your best bet is a neutral color that will complement most of your suits. We recommend a black colorway with a white midsole, or a clean all-white leather sneaker.

Shoe silhouette: You can always count on a low-top leather sneaker design. Mid to high-tops are a bit more tricky, but if they’re simple enough and coordinated well, it can be pulled off.

Suit: Your suit should be as modern as possible in its fabric, pattern, and fit. Pick a fun and youthful pattern to reflect your nonchalant manner; a lightweight and flexible fabric; a contemporary suit design (i.e. a balance of classic-slim fit, narrow lapel, sits at waist).

The Best Sneakers of 2019

2019 is already shaping up to be a very good year for sneakers. From forward-thinking new styles to an influx of rereleases and retros that genuinely deserve the hype, there's a lot that's worthy of your attention. As expected, big players like Nike, Adidas, and Jordan are all delivering everything from updated classics shoes to on-point collaborations. But that's just part of the equation. New Balance still knows exactly how to make dad shoes feel cool, Greats still delivers on value and sophistication, and specialized brands like Salomon are making us rethink our priorities. Here are the best sneakers of the year so far.

Nike React Presto 'Brutal Honey'

Reworking the Air Presto was a roll of the dice in theory, but the React version—especially in an old-school colorway—just plain works. Add in some incredibly comfy cushioning and you've got a winner.

Nike SB Dunk High 'Walk the Dog'

These shoes are ostensibly an homage to many different dog breeds, and that's cool. But notice the release date. And all that green on the upper. Yeah, there's that, too.

Nike x Heron Preston Air Max 720/95

The one you see here is just a single iteration of the many possible combinations that were available through Nike and Heron Preston's collaboration. It's all about keeping things personal.

New Balance x Bodega 997S 'No Days Off'

New Balance's 997 Sport got a remix courtesy of Bodega in April of 2019, giving the new style some very attractive colorblocking and a little extra street cred.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 'Clay'

Adidas recently upped the production of a lot of the shoes in its collaborative line with Kanye West. While that seemed to introduce a bit of buyer fatigue at first, releases like the 350 V2 in "Clay" prove the partnership is still going strong.

Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 'Geode'

The 700 takes the chunky sneaker trend and brings in the signature Yeezy aesthetic and super-comfortable Boost courtesy of Adidas. It's not exactly new, but it still looks good.

Nike Air Max 90 'Mars Landing'

The words "Nike" and "Mars" together tend to make most sneakerheads think of the brand's Mars Yard sneakers in collaboration with artist Tom Sachs. These AM90s are a good argument for thinking outside of that box.

Air Jordan IX 'Midnight Navy'

The Air Jordan IX is never unwelcome, and this February's "Midnight Navy" colorway was no exception. The combination of dark navy patent and clean white leather feels sporty and fresh.

Nike x Off-White Air Max 90

Nike and Off-White's collaboration has been going for a while now, but the AM90 from this February is solid evidence that it hasn't lost steam. Designer Virgil Abloh's aesthetic fits perfectly with riffs on the classic style in both black and a rich tan called "Desert Ore."
