Coinciding with the first dealership dedicated to the
BMW i sub-brand on London’s Park Lane, BMW also debuted the i Pedelec –
a new foldable electric bicycle that encapsulates the ingenuity we’ve
come to expect from the luxury German automobile manufacturer. Crafted
to complement the i3 hatchback, two of the electric bikes can fit
comfortably in the trunk of the electric supermini. Equipped with an
electric motor featuring an electronic management system and a
high-performance battery that assists the rider’s pedaling up to 16 mph,
the frame has been designed out of a durable aluminum and carbon fiber
blend. With a full battery charge capable of a 25-mile jaunt, and no
need to acquire a license or insurance, the i Pedelec is truly a weekend
warrior.
